Creating a cool left navigation panel for a website

Start by creating a rectangle using rectangular shape tool.
Duplicate the layer. From filter menu select sketch>>halftone pattern. Apply settings as shown.
From filter menu select noise>>add noise. Apply settings as shown.
Press Ctrl+T and scale down horizontally. Change the layer mode to "Difference".
Ctrl+Click the layer thumbnail to get the selection. Press Q to enable quick mask. From filter menu select sketch>>water paper. Apply settings as shown.
Press Q again to disable quick mask. Create a new layer and fill it with gray color.
Ctrl click the first rounded rectangle layer we created. Press Ctrl+Shift+I to inverse the selection. Press delete.
Change the layer mode to "Difference".
Create a rounded rectangle using rounded rectangle shape tool.
Press Ctrl+U to open hue/saturation window. Apply settings as shown.
Duplicate layer scale down a bit and place right below the first layer. Similarly create for the bottom of panel.
Type navigation links using a nice font.
