Creating an abstract geometric background effect

Start by applying a gradient in radial mode to the background.

From "Filter" menu select "Pixelate>>Mosaic". Apply settings as shown.

Duplicate the layer. From "Filter" menu select "Texture>>Stained Glass". Apply settings as shown.

Change the layer mode to "Color Burn".

Select and merge both the layers. Duplicate the layer and change the layer mode to "Difference".

Select and merge all the layers. Press Ctrl+U to open hue/saturation window. Apply settings as shown.

Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings as shown.

Change the layer mode to "Vivid Light".

Duplicate the layer and move it to the top.

Duplicate the layer. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select rotate 90°.
