Creating your own custom shapes using default shapes

Custom shapes are pre-defined vector shapes that can be reused, rescaled without any loss in quality. Photoshop has a fixed number of default custom shapes. But one can easily create his own custom shapes by modifying the default ones. Select polygon tool. Click on the small arrow to open polygon options. Enable star and set the sides to 6.
Open a new file. Create shape as shown.
Enable exclude overlapping shape areas from the options bar at top.
Select the star path using path selection tool. Duplicate the path and rotate it.
With the "exclude overlapping shape areas" still enabled at the top bar, create "flower 6" shape using custom shape tool.
Select all the paths using path selection tool. Duplicate the paths. Press Ctrl+T and scale down as shown.
From edit menu select "define custom shape".
Name it "my flower".
Open custom shapes. Select the shape we defined in previous step.
Now you can use this shape whenever you want without going through all the pain.
