Designing an all purpose website header

Start by creating a new file of header size. Create a rounded rectangle using rounded rectangle shape tool.

Create more rounded rectangles of different sizes and different shades of a similar color.

Similarly create a number of rounded rectangles on the other side too.

Using custom shape tool create a few "circular frame" shapes and place as shown below.

Play around with different color and sizes to create more circular frame shapes.

Select all three layers of circular frame shapes. Press Ctrl+G to group them. Change the layer mode to "Multiply".

Create a rounded rectangle using rounded rectangle shape tool. This will serve as a place holder for the company logo.

Create a line using line shape tool.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings as shown.

Duplicate several times and place below each other.

Type navigation links between these lines.

Insert company logo above the logo place holder.
