In this tutorial, we will learn to create a neon text effect.
The neon effect works better in smooth edged fonts like Comic Sans.
Create a new file of 400 x 400 pixel wide. Fill the background with black color.
Type any alphabet of your choice. I have given these settings :-
Font = Comic Sens MS
Size = 500 pt.
Color = White
Style = Sharp
Control+Click on its layer name to select it.
Click on Channels tab and click on create a new channel.
Fill the new channel with white.
Go to Select>Modify>Contract and contract it 15 pixels.
Press shift+control+I or go to select>Select Inverse. Now, press the delete button to erase rest of the portion. Press control+d to deselect.
Go to Filter>Blur>Gussain Blur and blur it 4 pixel.
Now return to normal mode by clicking on layers tab.
Apply these settings to the layer.
Your text should look like this.
Go to select>Load selection and select Alpha1.
Create a new layer by pressing shift+control+n together. Fill it with white color. Our text is ready :)
